Who am I?

Simple Question

Who am I? It seems like such a simple question, yet our society has many people, especially young people questioning who they are.  Even at five or six years of age our children are being encouraged in many public schools that it is appropriate to identify as something that they are not. Young men identifying as women, women identifying as men, and if that is not foolish enough you can now identify as some animal or even a non-binary, whatever that means!

This demonic influence continues to fester through middle school, high schools and into schools of higher education. The woke media has caught on, so we now see people in transgender relationships popping up in almost every new movie or television series in an attempt to desensitize the viewer and normalize this behavior. Once you have been deceived into believing this insane doctrine, the next logical step is to attempt to physically change your appearance to match your identity.  You have just slipped into the next level of deception. Sadly, many begin the long painful process of going through a series of surgeries, removing and/or adding body parts in an attempt to transform their body to their perceived identity. This downward spiral leads to nothing but heartache for those who choose this road as well as their families.

The Truth

The truth of the matter is that you can never change what you were created to be. No removal or addition of body parts can change who you are. I heard someone say "If a man has a surgeon remove his arms and attached wings in their place, it still doesn't make him a bird!

You can't run from who God created you to be, but you can be assured that God didn't make a mistake in the way He created you. Our true fulfillment in life will be realized when we accept and give thanks to God for creating us the way He did. We need to embrace our identity. Our encouragement from the Scriptures reads:

"For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth." Psalm 139:13-16

Listen to Me, O islands, And pay attention, you peoples from afar. The Lord called Me from the womb; From the body of My mother He named Me. Isaiah 49:1

A Sober Reminder

God reminds us through His word that we are wonderfully made. So, the question becomes how will you handle the "free will" that God has given you to either believe and accept the truth about your identity or believe a lie? The choice is yours to make but the truth of the word of God is clear:

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.  For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So, they are without excuse.  For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. Therefore, God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason, God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.  And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done". Romans 1:18-28

Divine Purpose

When our God first created man, He created them male and female. When God created you, he created you either male or female. Our God doesn't change. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Trust in God's design for your life. The Lord has a wonderful plan and a divine purpose for creating you as He did. He loves you. He loves how He created you, so much so that He gave His only Son's life so that you would have the opportunity to live a joy filled life and one day usher you into His presence for all eternity.
